Tundra Biome
’Tundra’ means ‘treeless plain’, meaning there are no tree found on the surface of a Tundra biome.
ClimateTundra is one of the coldest biomes. Every animal that lives in this biome must adapt to the extremely cold weather and some even grow white fur in the winter like the arctic fox to camouflage with the environment.

AnimalsThese animals would need to get used of the very cold weather. Animals found on the Tundra environment include polar bears, arctic fox, white wolves, gray falcons, bald eagles, moose, water birds and more.

PlantsPlant found in this particular biome include bearberry, arctic moss, Caribou moss, Diamond leaf willow, Labrador Tea, Pasque Flower and many more.

LocationThe tundra biome covers 1/5 of the Earth’s surface and is located near the North Pole. The North Pole is opposite the South Pole and since it is further away from the equator it is the coldest place on Earth.
